I. OPEN MEETING
Don Carroll opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance.
A. ROLL CALL
Don Carroll, Brenda Clark, Charles Leighton, George Hockstadter, and Danny Withee were present.
B. MINUTES OF THE MEETING
1. Approve March 22, 2017 Meeting Minutes
Upon motion by Charles Leighton, seconded by George Hockstadter, it was voted 4 to 1 to approve the March 22, 2017 Meeting Minutes. (Danny Withee abstained as he was not present).
C. QUIT CLAIM DEEDS
1. Advantage Payroll Warrant # 19
Upon motion by George Hockstadter, seconded by Danny Withee, it was unanimously voted to approve Payroll Warrant #19.
2. Expenditures # 23
Upon motion by Danny Withee, seconded by Brenda Clark, it was unanimously voted to approve AP Warrant #23.
E. BOARD OF ASSESSORS
II. OLD BUSINESS
1 MRC / Perc Discussion
Don Carroll noted that the Town residents have already voted to stay with Perc, and we will have to add an article to Town Meeting to accept the funds.
III. NEW BUSINESS
1 Opening of Old Town Office Bids
There were no bids turned in to open, and it was noted that we will have to add an article to Town Meeting to get permission to sell the building.
III. COMMITTEE REPORTS
A. ANIMAL CONTROL The requested changes in the Budget were noted and Diane needs to Clarify with the Animal Control Officer.
B. APPEALS BOARD Nothing.
C. CEMETERY Don Carroll reported the work crew from Penobscot County as of now will not be available this year for Cemetery clean up by the Grounds
crew have been notified in the event that they need to perform the job.
D. CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER Nothing.
E. E911 Nothing.
F. EDUCATION Hopefully we will have the budget numbers soon.
G. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMITTEE Nothing.
H. EMT/RESCUE Nothing.
I. FIRE DEPARTMENT Diane reported that Kim Tracy has requested to set up an account with Dysart’s for the Town.
Kim feels Dysart’s is cheaper and it will allow convenience for the Department.
Consensus of the Board was to set up the account.
K. PARKS & RECREATION Nothing.
L. PLANNING BOARD Nothing.
M. PLUMBING INSPECTOR Nothing.
N. RECYCLING & SOLID WASTE COLLECTION Contract needs to go out to bid.
O. ROAD COMMISSIONER William Barriault was present and reported that he is pleased with the dirt roads this year.
He stated he will grade soon, and would like to do some paving again this year. He stated that the town could use some binder this year to save cost and the roads.
He would like to consider the Lapoint road around the lake, the Wolfboro road, and the Brown road. Don Carroll reminded William that the town
will not be willing to pay for electric heat next winter at the salt and sand shed for the trailer that was in place the past year, different arrangements will have to be made.
P. STATE LEGISLATIVE CORRESPONDANCE Nothing.
Q. TREASURER Diane reported that Matt Dunlap will be moderating Town Meeting again this year.
R. WELFARE DIRECTOR Nothing.
S. OTHER Diane reminded Don Carroll, Charles Leighton and Connie Merrill that she is need of the reports from them for the Town Report as soon as possible.
In the process of scheduling the mandated trainings.
V. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Jody Lyford stated her questioned had been answered dealing with the sale of the old town office.
VI. SELECTMEN COMMENTS
Brenda Clark noted something needs to be done when vehicles are parking on the side of the road in the wintertime during snowstorms.
VII. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Upon motion by George Hockstadter, seconded by Brenda Clark, it was unanimously voted to adjourn the meeting at &:00 p.m.
