SELECTMEN’S MEETING

6:00 p.m.

AT TOWN OFFICE

THERE WILL BE AN EMERGENCY MEETING AT 10 AM

ON AUGUST 5TH 2019 TO DISCUSS THE URGENCY OF THE BID PROCESS FOR ROAD SIDE MOWING AND WINTER PLOWING.

ROLL CALL:

Brenda Clark, Millard Butler, Charles Leighton and Danny Withee were present. (Leslie Merrill was absent)

Road Side Mowing:

Concensus of the Board was due to the timing urgency for this work to be done, they would not go back out to bid due to another company

(Aggressive Cuts) being willing to do the work for a more than reasonable price and they have provided a package deal with a

3 year contract with proof of equipment and many references.

George Hockstadter informed the Board that he had spoken with Rick Faloon and Rick would be negotiable to discussing

with the board of upholding his contract bids that he just backed out of.

Millard Butler stated the Board could get the mowing done and sit down and talk to Mr. Faloon about the plowing contract.

Millard questioned complaints and statements made at meeting such as sharpening blades and going slower,

Joe Gray stated that was said at a meeting as a suggestion from Charles Leighton.

Upon motion by Millard Butler, seconded by Brenda Clark to have Aggressive Cuts do the Road side mowing for this year…..

In discusstion, Danny Withee stated that he is impressed by the proposal Aggressive Cuts has presented and feels that it would be worth while to give him the 3 year contract,

Charles Leighton agreed. Millard questioned if Mr. Faloon would reconsider the Plowing contract if he was not selected for road side mowing.

Brenda Clark stated that would be like black mail and not fair.

Millard and Brenda rescinded their motion and second.

Upon motion by Charles Leighton, seconded by Danny Withee, it was voted 3 to 1 to hire Aggressive Cuts

for this years roadside mowing and to award him the 3 year contract. Millard Butler voting no.

Millard then spoke with Mr. Faloon about meeting with the Board and Mr. Faloon declined because of the

Road side mowing now being awarded to someone else.

Upon motion by Charles Leighton, seconded by Danny Withee, it was unanimously voted to put the

Snow Plowing back out to bid in both the Rolling Thunder and the Bangor Daily news.
